What is a medical transcriptionist?
A medical transcriptionist is a skilled professional who is able to take an audio voice file from a physician or healthcare worker and transcribe it into a text file for either computer storage or paper storage format, or both. Physicians dictate patient reports from either hospitals, clinics, or private practice.
How does our course differ from other medical transcription training?
Our course material for the Advanced Transcription portion is unique to us. No other company has our material! This material was developed from desparate need to improve the type of overall training other companies were providing through their courses. Most college level courses use very old material from at least 25 to 30 years ago, and have not revised their material.. which is far too general in this day and age of technology and advances in medicine. our course encompasses up-to-date terminology, procedures, pharmacology, etc. We train a well-rounded MT! Your work is marked by a professional medical transcription editor... not marked by a program.
Distance Learning? The Advantages and Disadvantages:
ADVANTAGES:
¤ Our course provides students the ability to learn from the comfort of their own homes. Working with distance education allows your choice of variable study environments. Students choosing this method must be highly motivated, well organized, and be able to work independently. While our staff will provide information you need and test results, it is an environment that allows you to develop the skills of independent learning, which is a valuable skill in the online medical transcrition world.
¤ Since our course is online/tutorial it is exempt from HST. This is a HUGE savings in our day and age!! (approximately $300 savings).
DISADVANTAGES: We couldn't think of any...
Home training? Here are some benefits to think about...
¤ Create your own study environment
¤ Study in your pajama's if you like!
¤ No "instructor" that bores you to tears
¤ Study on YOUR schedule, not ours.
¤ I'm sure you can of several more...
A very good quote: (and since most of our students are women...)
"If you educate a man, you educate one person, but if you educate a woman, you educate a family" Ruby Manikan, Indian Church Leader
